Did you hear? The DOM sent last season looks down the runway at Australian Fashion Week
This year we attended Australian Fashion Week to flip the fashion narrative on its head, spotlighting last season fashion on the runway and the streets. We partnered with Albus Lumen & Emma Mulholland on Holiday to showcase archival pieces, now available to shop on sale.
The DOM presented a new perspective on fashion, one that celebrates the beauty of past season pieces and encourages shoppers to invest in quality garments that rises above trends. In a world where trends come and go in the blink of an eye, The DOM stands as a beacon of sustainability and style. Our ethos revolves around how we champion seasonless fashion, believe that true style knows no season and that investing in well-crafted pieces is a decision that pays dividends both in terms of longevity and sustainability.
The partnership with Albus Lumen and Emma Mulholland on Holiday proved that great style never goes out of fashion. By showcasing archival favourites alongside new collections, The DOM underscored the importance of cherishing and reimagining pieces from seasons past. By championing quality over quantity, The DOM empowers shoppers to make more conscious choices and build a wardrobe that reflects their individual style, rather than following the crowd.
Creators Michelle Banares and Yasmin Suteja shared their thoughts after the Albus Lumen show. “The fact that you guys sent an old piece down the runway-it’s very cool, unheard of. I hope we can see more of that.” Says Michelle. Yasmin responds, “Absolutely and it was so seamless you know? It fit so well with the rest of the collection like you wouldn’t even know.”
By offering past season collections at discounted prices, The DOM not only makes premium fashion more accessible but also encourages a more sustainable approach to shopping. Rather than discarding last season's pieces in favour of the next big thing, shoppers have the opportunity to give these garments new life, reducing waste and minimising their environmental footprint.
